100% Mangalitsa piglets.
These pigs are a wooly heritage pig from Hungary. Mangalitsa’s are a lard pig, have small litters, and can take up to 15 months to finish out. For these reasons commercial farms can not make money, so do your research. THEY MIGHT NOT BE FOR YOU.
I see a lot of homesteaders, and small farmers use them as an F1 cross to add marbling. The meat is excellent, and the lard is melt in your mouth delicious. We have eliminated all vegetable, and seed oil in our diet. Only use lard for deep frying, and skillet cooking. Eliminating veg oil, and using lard started with my wife researching how to reduce or eliminate her inflammation. Do your research.
I keep a wallow for the pigs during summer, and we are currently rained out, hence muddy pig pics.
Our boar is blonde and throws blonde pigs. Sow is swallow bellied. Our stock was shipped from different states seeking out the best quality. I only buy quality stock, and strive to breed and keep the same quality.
